Anyways, in short, my contract is over, it was a lovely year and I will be back to making posts that no one reads ASAP.

Yesterday I watched Tyra, then Oprah, and would’ve watched Dr. Oz but his segment was a on “miracle cancer pill” which I found so unbelievable as to be insulting to my intelligence. The only somewhat useful things I did were apply for a job, answer 2 questions from my practice LSAT book, and go to a dance class.

Today has been much of the same. Actually today I watched a “Chef At Home” about how to make bread, then lounged around ’studying for the LSAT’ for 3 hours before making said bread. It takes 18 hours to rise so I suppose in 17 hours I’ll have another story to post.

Oh, tonight I am celebrating my graduation alongside a few friends who are also doing nothing currently. Did I mention we’re throwing the party for ourselves? Decidedly housewife-ish. Junior League here I come.

So. E-40 is dropping two albums on the same day. It’s a bit of a feat… Nelly did it a few years back with Suit/Sweat and I think that was pretty much the end of his career. It also calls into question the quality of the work that’s being released, though with E-40 I assume this won’t be a problem. His two albums are called “revenue retrievin”, day shift and night shift respectively. I was listening to a song from…one of them…called “show me what you working with’ feat Too $hort and I noticed something interesting. There’s been a fad for quite some time now of rappers going out of their way to name the different races of girls that they’re down with.

This can be seen in Gym Class Heros “Cookie Jar”:

“I got a thing for Milano, Biscotti Italianos
And I never turn down some Oreos if you got them
Butter Pecan Puerto Rican
Or them Oatmeal Raisin Asians
Hazelnut Brazilians, Macadamia Caucasians..”

Or in Ludacris’ recent “How Low”:

I have to say..this is the first song where I’ve seen them call out the Indian girls. I think its commendable. They are a largely group ignored in terms of rapper call outs. I know, I’m bored and unemployed, but I just thought I’d point this out and congratulate both E-40 and Too $hort on the lack of discrimination when it comes to hitting on chicks. So much respect it almost makes me forgive Too $hort for his blatant and frequent exploitation of women.

It’s been much too long.  I’ve decided that 1) I really need to add the rest of my work from The Peak on here.  and 2) I need to start putting up some of my work from design class.

Design isn’t something that I plan to do for a career, but I’ve done a lot of work for this class and I’m getting tired of showing my friends through tumblr.

Lately I have been getting my applications in order for grad school and stressing over graduating and subsequent adulthood.  Also tonight I discovered online Chip’s Challenge, which kept me distracted from my paper on vaccination.

There is currently a windstorm outside which is both noisy and scary, two things that are keeping me from sleeping.

Everyone time I write I promise myself I won’t get behind again, but it always seems to happen.  Anyways, currently finishing the last of the papers, the thesis is finally done, and studying for my design exam.

I’m missing the heat and fun of summer, but who isn’t?

Still had time for a lovely weekend.  Friday I went to a concert at the astoria.  Lovely band called WZRDS, who dress up as their namesake and play some very fun music.  Good times were had by all.  Saturday was mostly a write off, sleeping and eating and catching up with pals.  Brunch with pals at Burgoo on main, and then a failed attempt at dinner at noodlebox which resulted in dinner at cactus club…  can’t win ‘em all.  New Rob Feenie menu was pretty good though.  Sunday I attended the 604 delite show which was downright magical, I was absolutely inspired and can’t wait to dance today.  After that I hit up capstone for some chocolate fondue!  yum.

All in all it was  a nice weekend except for this killer cold I picked up.  I’m hoping to shake it off before the Harbour Dance show on Sunday.  I miss the heat!

Anyways, new work in the works section! woooo! The much hyped interview with Andrew WK and Nardwuar! woo! Possibly more info to come on that… There were a lot of interesting things said that I didn’t get to include. Also Nardwuar is incredibly cool. I’m pretty sure we’re best friends now.

However, I have some new exciting things that will be joining the works section!

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the lovely Nardwuar and Andrew WK.

Here’s some quick pictures from the release party of their 7″ titled A Wild Pear. Both men were incredibly interesting, and while I did a profile/review for The Peak, which I’ll post soon, I also plan to put up longer, unedited interviews (possibly including the audio) with both remarkable gentleman.

These are even better viewed while listening to Will Smith’s sweet soundtrack for the film .  Pretty sweet video too.  Will Smith is so descriptive of the plot there’s pretty much no point in seeing the film.  Unless of course you’re planning to admire the beauty of the steampunk spider.
